How to Use Creativity to Stay Focused on Your Purpose

Updated: Jul 19, 2022

The menial tasks of day-to-day life quickly bog me down. I get distracted. My brain is full. Clogged... And sometimes I lose track of why I do the things that I do. Knitting can bring me back to the slow and quiet place where I can hear my own thoughts. Those slow and quiet places always whisper about why. And the big picture. And the things I love about what I've packed into my life.

It's good to be reminded of the motivation behind the mundane tasks. It's good to remember my purpose.

I can't always sit and knit when I need to focus on a task, but I can take a minute to think about why that task is important to me. Why is it part of my larger goal? What will completing this task help me achieve?

When I take the time to think about my motivation, I find that I can work with more purpose. And when I work with more purpose, I'm usually more productive. So if you're feeling bogged down by the day-to-day, take a minute to sit quietly and think about your motivation. Why are you doing what you're doing? What is your purpose? And remember, it's okay to change your purpose. Sometimes our motivation changes and that's perfectly normal. Just be sure to hold onto sight of the why.

Do you have any tips for staying focused on your purpose? Let me know in the comments! I'm always looking for ways to increase my productivity.
